Covenant’s Story

We are called to worship, learn, reach out and serve together. We believe that as we share in one another’s lives, we glorify God and live the faith that to which we are called.

As we live our faith, we look to the symbols of God’s promises to us. First, we remember that God made a covenant with Noah. As we look to the sky, we see that God has placed the bow in the clouds in order that we would remember that promise. The rainbow also speaks to the diversity of God’s people. At Covenant, we embrace diversity. All are welcome here! We recognize that our theology and beliefs may differ but we are still called to be family through Jesus Christ. Jesus made this possible and opened up a new covenant with us as he instituted the Lord’s Supper. When we share together in Communion, we remember the precious and unmerited grace that God have us through Christ.

Covenant Presbyterian Church was officially organized in 1981. During the first years, the congregation worshiped together at Kensler Elementary School. In 1983, the church broke ground on their new home at 1750 N. Tyler Rd. The purchased land was previously a wheat field. Covenant members embrace the profound imagery of the wheat field. For, even if we have faith the size of a seed, we can do great things. Further, the harvest is plentiful. We believe that both as we reach out and share the Good News and as we share our blessings with others.

Years after our creation, we are constantly listening to where the Holy Spirit is moving us. We pray that if you come seeking God’s presence in your life, you will find it at Covenant. Join us anytime. You are always welcome here!
