Laura began serving Covenant as Associate Pastor in July 2008. Four years later, she accepted the call to serve as Head Pastor.
Simply put, Laura loves being a pastor. She feels it is an honor to walk with people through all times in their lives – from the joyous moments to the most difficult. She considers Covenant a wonderful place – a true family – where different ideas are welcome and celebrated. Her vision for ministry is that Covenant be a place where she can teach and be taught, nurture and be nurtured, love and be loved.
Under her leadership, Covenant has experienced many great joys over the past few years. The newly renovated sanctuary along with many other renovation projects reveals her passion for the church to continue to evolve and meet the needs of a diverse and growing population. She thrives on the energy of the congregation and the hustle-bustle of a busy church serving the needs of the community. Traveling with mission trips are a special delight to her. In the summer of 2012, she visited Haiti with a mission team that provided water to villages. Committed to Covenant being a “city on a hill” she encourages the staff and congregation to participate in many service and mission projects each year.

Joseph began his service to Covenant in 2003 as a Youth Volunteer. In 2005, he became the Youth Ministry Team Coordinator. Eight years later, in January 2013, he accepted the call to join Covenant full-time to minister to youth and young adults, and in 2016 became the Associate Pastor. In the years that Joseph has worked with young people at Covenant, he has relished the opportunity to enjoy Jesus Christ with people of all ages. In his role as Youth Director, he feels every day presents new and exciting challenges and joys. His enthusiasm to meet the needs of young people and involve them in church life is remarkable. Whether it’s setting up a Gaga Ball pit for teens to play with, or arranging fun outings for every day of Spring Break – Joseph goes the extra mile to relate to people and let them know they are safe, loved and welcome at Covenant.
Joseph spent 14 years learning about people in an industrial setting and two years as a full time social worker in the mental health field. Joseph feels that God has him right where God wants him at this time. Joseph’s dream for the Youth Ministry at Covenant is that it continues to be an ever-strengthening place where people, young and old, can gather in a safe and loving space to be refreshed, energized, nurtured, fed, and equipped to take and spread Christ’s message with them wherever they go.

Since June 2006, Laura has served as Office Administrator. Her role is to support the work of the church and to help implement the church’s mission & vision: to worship, reach out, to learn and to serve. As Office Administrator, her passion is to do whatever it takes to be helpful and to minister to those who call the office and walk through the doors at Covenant. Laura especially enjoys meeting new people of all ages & backgrounds, building relationship with members of Covenant, helping those in need, and assisting with the food pantry. A great asset to Covenant, Laura enjoys utilizing her creative skills to create bulletin covers each week that portrays the message of the sermon and enhances worship, making sure invoices are paid, along with producing numerous promotional, information, and educational pieces for all the activities at Covenant. The church benefits daily from her great organization skills, her friendly smile, and helpful manner.
Laura has served as a pastoral care giver with the Pastoral Care Board, and keeps up with the ever-changing technology needs of the church. One of her dreams for Covenant has come to fruition over the last 2 years with the food pantry being renovated and moving into a bigger space that will hold more food and better serve the needs of those who are hungry. Because of her deep love and concern for others, she goes out of her way to send cards, make phone calls, and visit shut-ins. The church is blessed to have someone with a big heart to be the first face they see when enter the doors.

Kevin accepted his call to Covenant in January 2005. He enjoys the daily challenges of maintaining the facilities, keeping the church calendar organized, and working with the many different church groups here at Covenant. He is passionate about opening the church facilities to the community and being good stewards of the blessings God has bestowed on the church. One of Kevin’s special skills is his creative talents that range from the graphics that run on the outdoor LED sign to exciting sets and displays for the church for VBS, Christmas plays, worship services, upcoming events and more. Kevin is gifted with technological skills and patiently answers repeated pleas to help from other staff members. In recent years Kevin has been our receiving treasurer & church administrator but now has the position of marketing assistant. He values the friendships and relationship of both young and old that we share in Jesus Christ. He has learned that sharing his talents with the congregation provides many opportunities to share Jesus Christ and to welcome others to Covenant through his visual media and artistic gifts. He has also discovered the joys of serving by coordinating the Westside Churches Blood Dive for six years in a row. According to the Red Cross, it is one of the most successfully blood drives each year for the Red Cross. Kevin continually seeks out ways to bring the Wichita community and Covenant together.
In the past year Kevin volunteered to be an adult sponsor and loved attending Triennium with our youth at Covenant and around the world.
